Meet the Optometrist Behind This Website
This website is maintained by Fahmina Jawed, B.Optom, a qualified and licensed Optometrist with over a decade of hands-on clinical experience in eye care.
Fahmina completed her Bachelor of Optometry from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, graduating with a grade of 90% — a result earned with distinction. She began her clinical career immediately after graduation, working at two of India’s most respected eye care institutions.
Her clinical experience includes:
- Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital, India — Internship, gaining foundational clinical skills in refraction, ocular disease, and patient management.
- Susrut Eye Foundation & Research Centre — Student internship at one of eastern India’s leading eye hospitals.
- Ranigunj Eye Hospital Practiced as a qualified Optometrist under Lions Eye Hospital. Independently managed eye care units across multiple locations including Durlovpur, Bohula, Mejia, and surrounding areas, collaborating directly with Lions Eye Hospital staff to serve underserved communities.
Since 2022, Fahmina has dedicated her expertise to building OptometrySkills as a comprehensive, clinically accurate educational platform for eye care professionals and patients worldwide.
